Summer vacation is here. Summer activities provide valuable experiences for children to learn about themselves and the world around them. But, along with the sports, camps, camping, etc,. there is one activity that, when done together, can also be a deep and satisfying pleasure. That activity is reading. This summer, your child’s life can be enriched through reading and journal writing. And the best part is that it’s not just for summer. Reading is a “sport” with a 12-month season, but practice can start this summer. Please make sure that your child’s day includes a time that is set aside for independent and shared reading.
While the children are home for the summer, this is a great time to teach them about saving and managing money!
