The mission of the Turning Point Academy Counseling Department is to provide academic and short-term social and emotional counseling services for all students. The overriding goal is to ensure that every student has the opportunity to achieve the highest possible education in the areas of academics, career, personal development and social development. This is achieved through a partnership with students, parents, community and school staff.
Meet the Counselors
TPA counselors provide direct and indirect services to students, parents, and school staff.
Direct services are in-person interactions between school counselors and students.
Counselors visit the classrooms to teach the structured lessons designed to help students with skills needed to make decisions and resolve problems. The sessions are in the form of themed lessons which emphasize things like study skills, career awareness, decision making, or bullying prevention.
Indirect or student support services are provided on behalf of students. These include consultations, collaborations, and referrals.
